Truss Setting & Construction Lifts in Baton Rouge, LA
Crane and boom truck requests for setting trusses, beams and materials on residential and commercial builds around Baton Rouge.
Matching the machine to the build
Residential truss sets in growing areas like Prairieville, Gonzales, Denham Springs and Zachary are often handled by a boom truck or small mobile crane. Larger commercial frames, long spans and steel may need a bigger crane. For placing pallets on upper floors, a telehandler may be enough.
Information to have ready
Bring the truss count, the heaviest single piece or bundle, the spans, the wall height, and where the crane can park relative to the house. Note overhead power lines, trees, driveway width and whether the lot is still soft from rain.
Lifting from the street
If the crane has to set up in a City-Parish street or sidewalk, the crane-lift permit paperwork is due at least 30 days ahead, so schedule early.
What to have ready when you call
- Job location (street or nearest cross streets) and whether the machine works on a public street, private lot or plant site
- Dates, expected duration and whether you need it operated or bare
- Weight and size of what you are lifting or the depth/footprint of what you are digging
- Ground conditions and access: gate widths, overhead lines, soft or wet soil
- Whether delivery, pickup and any permits are part of the rental
- Insurance certificates your general contractor or facility requires
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a crane or a boom truck for trusses?
It depends on piece weight, radius and height. Many residential sets use a boom truck, and the provider can confirm after reviewing the plans.
Can the crane come with an operator?
Yes. Most truss-setting lifts are booked operated. See operated crane services.
